Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Shellicious ("we", "us", "our") is a small Australian-based handmade accessories business. You can reach us at hello@shellicious.au or via WhatsApp on +31 6 3656 9187.

We handle your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What information we collect

We only collect what we need to take and ship your order, and to improve our service. Specifically:

• Contact details you provide when ordering — name, email, phone number, shipping address.
• Order details — the product chosen, personalisation text (e.g. your name on a phone case), gift wrap preferences, any notes you send.
• Conversation history on WhatsApp or email related to your order.
• Payment confirmation data — we receive a confirmation that payment was made, but we never see or store your card number, PayPal login, or bank credentials.
• Website usage data — through Google Analytics: anonymised IP, browser, device type, pages viewed, time on page. See section 5.

3. How we use it

• To produce, package and ship your order.
• To send you order confirmations, shipping updates and replies to your enquiries.
• To handle returns or replacements if something arrives damaged.
• To keep records required by Australian tax law.
• To understand which products and pages people are interested in, so we can improve the site.

We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in (for example, by joining our newsletter). We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.

4. Who we share it with

We only share information with third parties when it's necessary to deliver your order or operate the site:

• Australia Post and international couriers — name and shipping address.
• WhatsApp / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd — when you contact us via WhatsApp, your message and number are processed under WhatsApp's privacy policy.
• Payment providers (bank transfer, PayID, PayPal) — they handle the payment directly. Their privacy policies apply.
• Netlify, Inc. — hosts the website and may temporarily process server logs.
• Google LLC — provides Google Analytics 4 (see section 5).
• Australian authorities — only if we're required to disclose information by law.

5. Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count anonymous visits and understand which pages are popular. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser and collect a partial (anonymised) IP address. We have IP anonymisation enabled and do not enable any advertising features.

If you'd rather not be tracked, you can install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or block cookies for this site in your browser settings.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep order-related information for as long as needed to fulfil your order and for the period required by Australian tax law (currently 5 years from the date of the transaction). Newsletter subscribers' details are kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Order communications happen over encrypted channels (HTTPS for the website, end-to-end encrypted for WhatsApp). We do not store credit card numbers ourselves.

8. Your rights

Under Australian privacy law you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
• Ask us to delete your information, unless we're required by law to keep it.
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we've mishandled your data.

9. Children

Our site is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.

10. International transfers

Some of our providers (Google, WhatsApp/Meta, Netlify) may store data on servers outside Australia. By using our site or ordering from us you acknowledge this transfer.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
